Meet Esmeralda O’Brien
Experienced Paralegal
About
Esmeralda O’Brien has devoted her legal career of 24+ years working on behalf of West Virginians who have been wronged in the workplace or injured. During the first chapter in her career, she focused on providing legal support for clients who had suffered catastrophic personal injuries and the families of individuals who had died in accidents.
With Rod Smith Law, she continues to help West Virginians in need, but has shifted her focus to help our clients who have been victimized in the workplace, including employees who have been sexually harassed or who have suffered racial or disability discrimination.
Esmeralda thrives in a fast-paced legal setting. She is responsible for maintaining and calendaring deadlines; drafting and preparing various pleadings for service and electronic filing in both state and federal court electronic filing systems; working with clients through the discovery process; and assisting in mediation, deposition, and trial preparation.
When not at work, she enjoys time with her family, her three dogs, Flynn, Sadie, and Minnie, and cat, Mowgli, and working in her yard and around her home.
